Heart 2 Heart Challenge: Fun Fold

I love the La Vie En Rose paper. The black and white papers are so versatile.

But, there is one thing I do not love about it and that one thing is the floral piece. I don’t know what it is about it but it doesn’t appeal to me. Honestly, it reminds me of those 90’s photos of the babies photographed by Anne Geddes.  Yet, it was the first paper I thought of when I decided to do a pinwheel card. And I love it! It really works with this card.

The Heart 2 Heart challenge this week is to create a card with a different type of fold to it. So, off I went to YouTube in search of a fun fold I haven’t tried before. Hence, the pinwheel. All the videos I found required a diagonal scoreboard of which I was not an owner of. So, I figured out how to make one without it. I used the stamp sets I Do, Happy to be Friends and Happy Times. First here is a picture of the card.

Technique Tuesday: Black Magic and Happy Times

With today’s technique I will be preforming a little Black Magic! Just kidding, but this technique is pretty cool and it is called Black Magic. Here is what you will need:

Black cardstock
White Daisy pigment ink (or White StazOn)
Stamp of your choice (I used the Happy Times stamp set that coordinates with this month’s special)
Watercolor pencils
White gel pen

First stamp your images in white. You will need to let the images dry before moving to the next step. To speed up the process, use a craft heater.

Once your ink is dry, start to color your images. Start with a lighter color, add a darker color to create depth. Then, take a white gel pen and highlight in a few areas. Here is my finished card!

Mojo Monday #449

About a month ago, I spent some time playing with my Friend in Me stamp set (#C1640 – retired) doing a little random stamping and then using my ShinHan markers to create some different color schemes.



Today, I used one of those random stamped pieces to create my Mojo Monday card.

Mojo Monday #447

Okay, I can never get my cards posted on Monday. But, I did start this one yesterday. I used our May Stamp of the Month Celebrate with Cake  and La Vie En Rose papers. I colored the white dots on the paper with a Tender Pink Shin Han marker. A really fun layout. See more great cards using this layout here.

Technique Tuesday: Stamping with your Blocks AND May’s SOTM

Here is a really simple technique to use to create a unique background for your stamps. All you do is take one of your My Acrylix blocks and ink it up and stamp it on your paper.
