This week for the Color Dare Challenge I decided to keep it simple.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The colors we have been challenged to use are Glacier, Honey, Whisper, Sapphire, Cranberry, White Daisy and Black. Dang! That’s a lot of colors! These colors are actually the palette for our <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #333399;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://lisajarvis.ctmh.com/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9183&ci=5919" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #333399; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">Magical Papers</a></span></span>.<br />

So bright and fun, they could be used to create layouts or cards with any theme. I really love the red and white dot paper and the black paper with cameras.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I am not quite ready to cut into my Magical paper so instead I used cardstock. I used the CTMH stamps sets Springtime Wishes and the coordinating thin cuts (retired) and the mini stamp My Happy (also retired). I embellished with Fundamental Glitter Stickers in Black and Glacier and a little doodling with my black Le Pen.</div>

<span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: green;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="https://lisamariecreates.blogspot.com/2016/07/organize-your-stamps-evernote.html" target="_blank">Last week</a></span></span> I gave myself the assignment to finish entering my stamp sets on the app <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: green;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="https://evernote.com/" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: green; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">Evernote</a></span></span>. If you have decided to organize your stamps this way too, you probably won’t be done yet. It does take time but it is really worth it.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I forgot to show you how how I keep my stamps. I use plastic drawers. Each drawer is about 7″ high. I lay some non-slip shelf liner along the bottom of the drawer to keep the stamp envelopes from sliding around. They are in the drawers in alphanumeric order. I plan on getting some contact paper and covering the front of the drawers to make them more decorative.<br />
<br />

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1880.jpg?resize=400%2C533" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Today, I am going to talk about ribbon. I have spent the last day or two searching the internet for ribbon organization ideas.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
In the past I have tried a couple of different ways to keep my ribbon organized.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Something similar to this…</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img alt="decoration-ribbon-organizer-1" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/decoration-ribbon-organizer-1.jpg?resize=296%2C300" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
And, this…</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img alt="diy-ribbon-organizer-by-chaoticartworks" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/diy-ribbon-organizer-by-chaoticartworks.jpg?resize=300%2C189" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
These ideas, while perfectly good, did not work for me. So, I ended up with this…</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1800.jpg?resize=402%2C302" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1802.jpg?resize=401%2C301" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
A jumbled mess or hidden in a drawer.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
In my search, I found 2 ideas I really liked. The first one is my ideal ribbon storage.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img alt="pic-1-ribbon-organizer-done" src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/pic-1-ribbon-organizer-done.jpg?resize=206%2C300" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
They even give you instructions to make your own. Click <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://makezine.com/2012/01/12/project_ribbons_of_organizatio/" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">here</a></span></span> to check it out. I like this idea because the spools sit on a shelf rather than having a rod run through them. Using a rod really makes it hard to change out empty rolls or grab a particular roll to use somewhere other than your craft space. Plus, sometimes, when you grab a piece of ribbon you can start unrolling all the rolls and your ribbon collection becomes a mess.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
My problem is I do not have the wall space to hang an organizer like this. Also, I am organizing on the cheap. I decided to use some white plastic baskets that I already had. The baskets are the perfect size for medium to large ribbon spools.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1873.jpg?resize=400%2C533" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Not perfect but it works. See that jar to the left? I have a few of these and I plan on grouping my small scraps of ribbon in color groups and storing them in these.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Here is the second idea I liked. My friend, Barb has done this with her ribbon. She uses ribbon cards. I also saw someone using embroidery cards they attached their ribbon to. I checked a local store and did not see any embroidery cards. We live about 40 minutes from a Hobby Lobby or Michael’s and I will not be headed that way any time soon so, I got to thinking. I decided to try using safety pins and a hanger. I have a fairly large amount of ribbon rounds but I keep them in a drawer so I never end up using them.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I started unrolling my ribbon and here is how it looks.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1865.jpg?resize=400%2C533" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1866.jpg?resize=400%2C533" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1867.jpg?resize=400%2C533" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1868.jpg?resize=400%2C533" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I folded each length of ribbon in half around the pin in the same manner, with the length hanging down the same side as the opening on the pin. The closed end of the pin will be the side that rests on the binder ring. I tore off the top of one of the empty ribbon round spools and added it to the ring so I can see what color these ribbons are. A lot of my ribbon rounds include discontinued colors so the label will be helpful. Then, I attached the ring to a hanger. I<span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://shortwizard.blogspot.com/2012/09/ribbon-organization.html" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank"> saw online</a></span></span> the idea to use a binder clip in between your rings to keep them from sliding into each other.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I only unrolled a few rolls because I only have 2 binder rings. I’ll go shopping this week and get some more plus I may try to find some pins that have a larger hole on the closed end of the pin. I think it would be better if I could slide the binder ring through that hole on the pin. But, either way I think I am going to like organizing the ribbon this way. I even added a pair of scissors to the hanger!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Back to the empty rolls…</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1864.jpg?resize=400%2C534" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I searched “crafts with empty ribbon spools” and lo’ and behold there were <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="https://www.pinterest.com/precmom98/recycled-ribbon-spools-crafts/" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">a bunch of ideas</a></span></span>! How did I never know about this? And, to think of all the empty spools I have just tossed in the garbage. To shame!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
My absolute favorite idea is this wreath. It only links to a partial picture on photobucket but it looks so fun.</div>

Definitely don’t throw those cardboard spools out! I will definitely be saving mine to make a ribbon spool wreath! Or, those plastic ribbon round tubes! Years ago I made a holder for my liquid glass to keep it upside down. They are great to hold candy as a fun hostess gift or for a child’s birthday party too.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

<span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">This week’s assignment: Organize my ribbon so it is easily accessible and in order. If you are joining me in organizing feel free to comment on how you organize your ribbon. I would love to hear your ideas.</span></div>

I still have a few piles here and there but hopefully some of that will be remedied in the coming weeks.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><br /></span>
<img height="640" src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1667.jpg?resize=700%2C933" width="480" /><br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
This week I am going to organize my stamps. Honestly, I started this project months ago. I was at a CTMH event last year and I met a lot of great consultants there, including my upline, Heather Hicks. Her and another girl told me about <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #128c12;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="https://evernote.com/" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #128c12; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">Evernote</a></span></span>. I could not wait to implement it. I have a lot of stamps and even though I had organized my stamps into categories, it still could take a serious amount of time to find a particular set I needed.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Evernote has revolutionized the way I use my stamps. Not only can I find the stamp set I need. I am finding and using stamp sets I forgot I had. You can download Evernote to your smart phone or pc from the App Store. Once you download it you will set up your account with a user name and password.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Evernote has a Basic plan that is free to use. With the basic plan you can download 60 mb of new uploads every month and sync across two devices. This was enough for me. And, what this meant was, I could only add so many stamp sets a month before I reached my limit. So, I would just wait until the next month and then continue to upload more sets. I also had only 2 devices to sync, my iPhone and laptop so I was good. If you want to sync more devices and/or want to get all your sets uploaded immediately then you can pay for the plus or premium plans. I have 269 stamp sets uploaded to the app right now. It probably took me 3 months to get them all uploaded using Evernote’s Basic Plan. I still have some more stamps to upload and that is what I will work on this week.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
So here is how to upload your stamps.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
First Create a Notebook.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1674.png?resize=576%2C1024" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Tap on Notebook and you will see a plus sign with the words New Notebook next to it. Tap on this and give your New Notebook a name.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1675.png?resize=576%2C1024" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Once you create your Notebook, it will ask you to add Notes. Each stamp set you upload is a note in your Notebook. And in my case my Notebook is called CTMH Stamps.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Click on the plus sign and then choose “TEXT” to add a stamp set.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
At the top it says “Notes from (my address)”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
In this spot I am going to type the Stamp # and Name. The number is important because you will store your stamps in alpha numerical order.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1686.jpg?resize=576%2C1024" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I am going to add a new set I haven’t uploaded yet, C1645 Day for Dad.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Now, tap in the blank space below the stamp name and start typing in every sentiment on the set or if you have a voice option you can speak them in which is easier and if your child is in the room with you; it will make them roll their eyes at you. Annoying your child is always a bonus!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
So here is what it looks like with the stamp title and sentiments typed in.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1677.png?resize=576%2C1024" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Next, remove the set from the envelope. Tap the camera icon. Hold your phone above the set and snap a picture. Or on my phone the camera will automatically focus in on the set and capture the picture. I like to save these pictures as document. Sometimes my camera will save it as a post-it and it is yellow. If that happens just tap your picture and tap the arrow next to post-it and choose Document. I don’t choose “Picture” because it gives you a whole picture. So if the stamp set is on your lap when you take the picture you will see your lap as well. Saving it as a document gives you just the stamp set image.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Here is what it looks like after I save my picture. But we aren’t finished yet.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1679-1.png?resize=576%2C1024" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Next, we are going to tag this set with words that will describe what stamps are on it. So, see that little i in a circle? Tap on that. You will see the words “Add Tag”. Tap on that and start typing in your tags. Type them in one at a time hitting the return button after each tag. I tagged this stamp with mustache, bow tie, hat, bottle, soda, card, sentiment. You don’t have to tag it with Dad or Father’s Day because we already have those words when we typed in all the sentiments. I also tagged it with cricut and Artistry since this is a set that has images that can be cut out on the cricut.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1687.jpg?resize=414%2C736" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
After you have your tags typed in tap on Close, then tap on Save in the upper right-hand corner.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
That’s it!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Now, if I want to find a mustache stamp; I can search the word mustache and all my stamp sets that contain a mustache or the word mustache can be found!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/img_1684.png?resize=576%2C1024" width="225" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Here is why I love this:</div>
<ol style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: initial; margin: 0px 0px 25px 16px;">
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">I don’t have to rely on my memory to find a stamp. I can find the perfect image or sentiment every time.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">It saves me time. Yes, it takes awhile to get your collection uploaded but once it is done you can quickly locate.the stamp you need.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">It saves me money. If I am out shopping and I see a cute stamp. I can quickly check my phone and see that I already have 5 other images of a bear and I don’t need another one.</li>
<li style="box-sizing: border-box;">And, this needs to be repeated: IT SAVES ME TIME!</li>
</ol>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Think of the possibilities! You could use this for your cricut cartridges, embossing folders, punches, ink pads and marker colors.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Right now I have all my stamps in plastic drawers I purchased at Walmart. They are in order so once I decide on the stamp I need, I go to my drawers and easily pull it out. No more flipping endlessly through stamp set after stamp set looking for what I need.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">This weeks assignment: Finish putting my stamp sets on Evernote. If you are playing along then start to get yours uploaded. If you have a bunch of sets this will take awhile but will be well worth it.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<em style="box-sizing: border-box;">Note: I have not received any compensation for recommending Evernote.</em></div>

One of the many things I love about Close To My Heart is the other consultants! They are so talented! I love looking in my Facebook groups and other places to check out what everyone is creating with the latest papers and stamps. As a consultant we are also supported by corporate and given instructions for workshops and make and takes to use with our customers. Recently, they have also included workshops created by some of our talented consultants.</div>

I am starting this post on Tuesday but it will be Wednesday before I finish it. The day got away from me and I just didn’t finish in time.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
This technique uses cardstock, craft glue, ink and a sponge. When you are finished your paper is supposed to have a distressed, vintagey look. It looked more like marble to me.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The first step is to put dots of glue randomly on your cardstock. I have 4 pieces of cardstock to experiment with, two are White Daisy and two are Colonial White.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1639.jpg?resize=500%2C667" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I wasn’t sure how much glue was too much so on one , I added a bigger blob.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1640.jpg?resize=500%2C667" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Then, using your finger spread the glue around in whatever direction you desire.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1641.jpg?resize=500%2C375" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Wait for it to dry.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The second one with the big blob of glue started to buckle so I added something to the edges to weigh it down a bit.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<a href="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1645.jpg" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #858585; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;"></a></div>
<br />
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">
Once dry you can choose your colors and sponge them on the paper. I used Sapphire, Lagoon, Glacier and Cocoa.</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1645.jpg?resize=500%2C375" /></div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">
That’s it! I liked the 2 on the left the best so I used them to make 2 different cards. The 3rd one was the one with the blob of glue and I think it was too much. The last one looks like it has 2 deer on it. I don’t think the difference in color of the cardstock mattered much.</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><br /></span>
<img height="480" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1624.jpg?resize=700%2C525" width="640" /><br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
This is shameful. <img alt="🙁" class="emoji" draggable="false" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/11/svg/1f641.svg" style="background: none !important; border: none !important; box-shadow: none !important; box-sizing: border-box; display: inline !important; height: 1em !important; margin: 0px 0.07em !important; max-width: 100%; padding: 0px !important; vertical-align: -0.1em !important; width: 1em !important;" /> It’s so bad that the past two days I have been working on my next month’s workshop at my dining room table. So, yeah, I have a mess going on down there too.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The biggest obstacle to staying organized is not cleaning up after myself when I finish a project or if I’m not quite finished, having some kind of container to keep an on-going project from cluttering up my space.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I have several ideas to keep myself organized and this summer, I plan on implementing quite a few of them. Close To My Heart has some <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #00ccff;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://lisajarvis.ctmh.com/Retail/Products.aspx?CatalogID=245" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #00ccff; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">great products to help with organization</a></span></span>and I have a few DIY ideas, as well. I’d like to add some decorative touches, as well. Nothing fancy, I mean, I would love to have tables made of reclaimed wood and specialty cabinets installed. But that’s not in this girl’s budget. I am talking more along the lines of having some pictures on the wall and just making the room welcoming.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
So let’s get organized together! Every Sunday, look for a post about what I am doing to get my craft room in shape. Hopefully, by summer’s end, I will have transformed my space into an oasis.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I am going to give myself an assignment every week and if you can relate to my assignment then jump right in and join me in the process!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;">This week’s assignment is to just tidy up because right now there is so much going on that it takes me at least 5 minutes just to find anything. I am also going to resolve to clean up after myself if I get anything out. </span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
See you next Sunday with a cleaner room and a new assignment.</div>

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
While I was on vacation I did bring some personal card making projects I wanted to complete and I brought some knitting. I did most of the knitting while we were driving. I drove with my parents and we also had my two daughters and my niece in the van with us. I did about 60% of the driving but when I didn’t have my hands on the wheel, I had them on my knitting needles. This was necessary in order to keep my mind off my parent’s driving. I’m not saying they are inferior drivers just inferior to me. Lol. Okay, so I have a slight problem with control. The knitting reduced my need to step on my imaginary brake and gasp every 15 minutes.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
A little bit about my knitting…I am a novice, I’m not that good and I usually do small projects like wash clothes. For this project I made a red, white, and blue bunting. It was a pretty quick and simple project.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img height="400" src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/img_1604.jpg?resize=700%2C933" width="300" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Here is the pattern, if you would like to make one yourself. I used the pattern from this<span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: red;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://knitting.about.com/od/homepatterns/ss/Patriotic-Bunting.htm" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: red; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">website</a></span></span> to make mine. I altered the last few rows just a bit from the original pattern. I also strung them together with a piece of yarn rather than crochet a chain since I do not know how to crochet.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Cast on 23</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
knit 3 rows</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Row 4: knit 1, K2tog, knit 17, K2tog, knit 1</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Rows 5-7: Knit (21 stitches per row)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Row 8: knit 1, K2tog, knit 15, k2tog, knit 1</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Rows 9-11: Knit (19 stitches per row)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Continue this way reducing by 2 on every fourth row.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
When you get down to 3 stitches, knit 3 rows of 3 stitches then knit 2 together and knit 1, then knit the last two together and bind the last one off.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I made 12 triangles. I used a darning needle and red yarn to string the triangles together.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

I love the La Vie En Rose paper. The black and white papers are so versatile.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
But, there is one thing I do not love about it and that one thing is the floral piece. I don’t know what it is about it but it doesn’t appeal to me. Honestly, it reminds me of those 90’s photos of the babies photographed by Anne Geddes. Yet, it was the first paper I thought of when I decided to do a pinwheel card. And I love it! It really works with this card.<br />
<br />
The Heart 2 Heart challenge this week is to create a card with a different type of fold to it. So, off I went to YouTube in search of a fun fold I haven’t tried before. Hence, the pinwheel. All the videos I found required a diagonal scoreboard of which I was not an owner of. So, I figured out how to make one without it. I used the stamp sets I Do, Happy to be Friends and Happy Times. First here is a picture of the card.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1398.jpg?resize=500%2C667" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
How to make a pinwheel card without using a scoreboard.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Cut an 8″x 8″ square of double-sided paper.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div style="box-sizing: border-box; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<a href="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1327-2.jpg" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #858585; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;"></a></div>
<br />
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">
Using a pencil and ruler, make a line down the mid-point of each side of the square. Don’t worry about the pencil marks because this is the inside of the card and they won’t show once completed. After you do this, you will have a big cross on your paper.</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

Adhere a 4″x 4″ square of cardstock in the center of the 8″x 8″ square so that the corners of the smaller square touch your pencil lines.</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">
Using the 4″ square as your guide, fold in all 4 corners one at a time, opening each one back out before you do the next one. Use your bone tool to make nice creases.</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

After you have creased all 4 sides you will see 4 small triangles where your folds overlapped. Cut these small triangles out.</div>

Stamp your sentiment on a 3,75″ x 3.75″ piece of cardstock and turn the card over and adhere this sentiment to the inside. (Yes, I switched colors on my 4″ square piece.)</div>

With today’s technique I will be preforming a little Black Magic! Just kidding, but this technique is pretty cool and it is called Black Magic. Here is what you will need:</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Black cardstock<br />
White Daisy pigment ink (or White StazOn)<br />
Stamp of your choice (I used the Happy Times stamp set that coordinates with this month’s special)<br />
Watercolor pencils<br />
White gel pen</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
First stamp your images in white. You will need to let the images dry before moving to the next step. To speed up the process, use a craft heater.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1318.jpg?resize=500%2C667" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Once your ink is dry, start to color your images. Start with a lighter color, add a darker color to create depth. Then, take a white gel pen and highlight in a few areas. Here is my finished card!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1321.jpg?resize=500%2C567" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">About a month ago, I spent some time playing with my Friend in Me stamp set (#C1640 – retired) doing a little random stamping and then using my ShinHan markers to create some different color schemes.</span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">Okay, I can never get my cards posted on Monday. But, I did start this one yesterday. I used our May Stamp of the Month </span><span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://lisajarvis.ctmh.com/ctmh/promotions/sotm/2016/1605-celebrate-with-cake.aspx" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">Celebrate with Cake</a></span></span> </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"> and La Vie En Rose papers. I colored the white dots on the paper with a Tender Pink Shin Han marker. A really fun layout. See more great cards using this layout </span><span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2016/05/mojo-monday-447.html" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: magenta; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">here</a></span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><br /></span>
<img src="https://i1.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1224.jpg?resize=550%2C550" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-921470566557682942.post-64035723472738766432016-05-10T06:47:00.000-05:002019-02-17T19:20:37.386-06:00Technique Tuesday: Stamping with your Blocks AND May’s SOTM<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Here is a really simple technique to use to create a unique background for your stamps. All you do is take one of your My Acrylix blocks and ink it up and stamp it on your paper.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
First make sure your block is clean.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1208.jpg?resize=500%2C500" /><br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Then, take an ink of your choice and ink up your block. I used a 3 x 3 block and inked it in Glacier and then put a little Crystal Blue on the edges. You always want to start with the lightest ink first but, you could always ink up with one color. Stamp. Clean your block. Add another color to the block in strategic locations and then, stamp again.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/img_1209.jpg?resize=500%2C500" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

<br />
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">
Stamp it on your paper using a piece of foam underneath.</div>
<div style="-webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 24px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; text-align: start; text-decoration-color: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">This week’s Color Dare uses a rainbow of colors: Ruby, Honey, Pear, Gypsy, and Colonial White. The last two days, I have experimented with the faux letterpress technique. You can read about this technique </span><span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #ffcc00; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://lisamariecreates.com/craft/technique-tuesday-faux-letterpress-card/" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: #ffcc00; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">here</a></span></span><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">. It’s a lot of fun but as I messed around with different ink colors, folders and ideas; my tables just got more and more cluttered. It didn’t help that I had an unfinished project hanging out on the table, as well as, some random stamping cards I had been working on and all the supplies that went with those items laying everywhere.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "open sans" , sans-serif; font-size: 15px;"><br /></span>

And this is just one of my tables. I have 2 more, one on each side of this one that look identical. I wouldn’t even think about showing you the floor. It’s too shameful. Can anyone else relate? Cleaning this mess up will be my first priority in the morning.</div>

One of my most favorite techniques is dry embossing. It is super easy to create beautiful cards using your embossing folders and embossing machine. CTMH has some great cardstock that has a white core and so after embossing you can take some sand paper and rub it over the cardstock revealing the core and highlighting those embossed images.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Today though, I am going to try a new-to-me technique called faux letterpress. I am going to use an embossing folder that I have that has anchors on it.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/img_1076-1.jpg?resize=500%2C666" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The first step is to take your embossing folder, open it, and on the inside rub your ink pad on the side of the folder that is flat, in other words, the side that does not have the raised design on it. Make sure you cover it completely.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i2.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/img_1078.jpg?resize=500%2C666" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Next, take a piece of white cardstock and put it in the folder and then run it through your embossing machine.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
And, here is how the cardstock looks after embossing. The ink will have an uneven look to it. But, I think it looks really fun. If you are using CTMH Ink Pads then, the ink does not stain your folder and simply washes off with water.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
<img src="https://i0.wp.com/lisamariecreates.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/img_1079.jpg?resize=500%2C666" /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Here is my finished card. I absolutely love this technique and plan to use it often! I may try Cashmere or Desert Sand inks next time to give the card a vintage look.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

The stamp set, It’s the Little Things, is a past Stamp of the Month and it was sitting on my table, pulled out of the envelope, when I went upstairs this morning. I haven’t been in my craft room for a week so I have no clue why this set was laying out. I do know that I have a really bad habit of not always cleaning or putting my stamps away when I am done with them. So, there it was. I was already thinking floral. It was kismet.</span><br />

And now, on to Mojo Monday, which happens to be Tuesday for me. I used the Regatta paper. The <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: navy;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2016/04/four.html" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: navy; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">Heart 2 Heart Challenge</a></span></span> theme this week is 4, four of anything. Since this theme is pretty wide open it makes it a lot of fun to see what everyone comes up with.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
This morning I thought I would try and learn a new technique. I got on YouTube and found something that looked interesting. Basically, you take a block and add different colored inks directly to the block, spritz with some water and then stamp the ink covered block on your paper. What you should get is a square of ink that looks like you water colored. Then, the idea was to stamp a “shadow” image over it. For this challenge, I was thinking of stamping four images. If your interested here is the <span style="box-sizing: border-box; color: navy;"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E10_w4FIi6c" style="border-bottom: 1px solid rgb(227, 227, 227); box-sizing: border-box; color: navy; text-decoration-line: none; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s;" target="_blank">video</a></span></span> I watched. I am sure there are more out there.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
I know, I could have just water colored but, again, I was looking for different techniques.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
After stamping several times, I wasn’t digging what I was coming up with and it was starting to get late into the morning so I scrapped my card idea. I started some of my usual daily tasks and got my girls breakfast. While they ate I took my mess back up to my craft room. I just hated to throw out all the paper I had inked on so, I got the idea to take four of the 3″x3″ squares and cut them down to 1 3/4″ squares. And, this is ultimately what I came up with. I am glad I was able to turn what I thought had been a waste of time into a pretty decent card.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #333333; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">

CTMH greens are Pear, Sweet Leaf, Fern, Topiary and New England Ivy. We could use any or all of them. I mostly used Pear. But I also used green glitter paper and ShinHan markers in Pastel Green (which I think matches Flaxen) and Leaf Green (which I think matches Pear).</span><br />

Earlier this year I had a card kit available for sale using this set. One of the cards is similar to the card above.</span><br />
